10 arrested for sloganeering, stone pelting outside Yasin Malik’s residence, says police

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that it arrested 10 persons for sloganeering and stone pelting outside Yasin Malik’s residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar city on Wednesday.

According to statement by Srinagar police, “10 accused arrested so far in anti-national sloganeering & stone pelting outside home of Yasin Malik prior to sentencing in Maisuma yesterday while as all other areas remained peaceful”.

The statement said that “Some more accused are being identified and will be arrested soon. In this regards FIR no 10/ 2022 under section 13 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, under sections 120B,147,148,149, 336 of IPC read with sec 34 of IPC stands registered in Maisuma Police station”.

The statement further said, “The main instigators of this hooliganism will be booked under PSA. Such anti-national activities & provocative posture will be always dealt strictly & with full force of law”.

“Youths are again requested not to indulge in activities that can spoil their careers & disrupt familes”, the statement ends.

Yasin Malik was sentenced to two life imprisonments and has also been fined by National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday after being convicted in a terror funding case on May 19. — (KIMS)
