NEW DELHI — India reports 1,41,986 fresh Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours out of which 40,895 recovery cases have been noted so far. Death mark has dipped slightly as compared to previous day, today’s death toll stands at 285, as informed by Union Health Ministry.
Country’s daily positivity rate is 9.28 percent today noting an increase in the positivity rate from 7.74 per cent yesterday. Total active cases in India stands now at 4,72,169 out of which 3,44,12,740 recovery cases have been recorded so far. Total death mark is 4,83,178 now.
India’s vaccination drive touched new highs yesterday by administering more than 150.06 crore vaccine doses to the population of India.
The cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus in the country has also witnessed speedy increase, with a total of 3,071 Omicron cases recorded so far, out of which 1,203 recoveries have been reported, as informed by the Union Health Ministry.
Top two contributing states of Omicron cases remained Maharashtra with 876 cases, and Delhi with 513 cases. They were followed by Karnataka with 333 cases, Rajasthan with 291 cases, Kerala with 284 cases and Gujrat with 24 cases of Omicron.
India has now entered a phase of no lockdown but strict restrictions all around. Administrations also urges people to follow Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior (CAB), to curb the infection of Covid-19 and Omicron in the country.
