32-year-old woman killed, five injured as boulder hits passenger vehicle in Doda

JAMMU — A 32-year-old woman was killed and five others were injured when a boulder rolled down a hillock and struck a passenger vehicle in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.

The incident took place near Baswal village along the Doda–Bharat road, they said.

Rescuers immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured passengers — all residents of Bharat Bagla village — to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Doda.

One of the passengers, identified as Razia Begum (32), succumbed to her injuries, while Sonia Devi (32), Zulaikha Begum (30), Kamran (2), Ghulam Hassan (31), and Imran Hussain (4) were admitted to the hospital for treatment, the officials added. — (PTI)
