Jaish militant module busted in Samboora, four associates arrested, says police

SRINAGAR — Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a module of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit at Samboora area of Pampore in Pulwama district and arrested four militant associates from the area.

Police in a statement said, “Acting upon information, Police Awantipora, with the assistance of Army 50 RR and CRPF 110 BN conducted raid and search in suspected areas of Samboora and during search four militant accociates identified as Zubair Gul S/O Gh Mohd Ganie, Adil Fayaz Ganie S/O Fayaz Ahmed Ganie, Basit Ali S/O Ali Mohd Dar, all residents of Samboora and Shahid Nabi Pandith S/O Gh Nabi Pandith R/O Konibal Pampore were arrested.”

“After questioning and followed by point out of these suspected, police/security forces have recovered incriminating material including arms/ammunition viz-Pistol with ammunition, Hand Grenade etc from the militant associates”, the statement added.

The statement further said that they were in touch with active militant commanders of JeM in the area and were providing logistic/support to JeM militants for propagating their terror acts and were providing transportation to militants.

A Case FIR No 161/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation is going on.
