Srinagar resident dies, another injured after rolling boulder hits i20 car in Ramban

SRINAGAR — A person was killed and another injured after a car they were traveling in was hit by a rolling boulder near Karol Jaswal Bridge in Ramban district this afternoon.

An Official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that an i20 car bearing registration number JK01AB 4050 was hit by a boulder resulting in the on spot death of one and injuries to another.

The deceased was identified as Adil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Gursa Colony Bemina in Srinagar he said adding “The identity of the injured person undergoing treatment at District Hospital Ramban is not known so far.”

The shooting stone, which wrecked the car, is believed to have been triggered by the rains.

Meanwhile, SSP Traffic (NHW) has advised people traveling in LMVs to avoid journeys on Jammu-Srinagar Highway (NH-44) between Banihal and Nashri and other link routes in Ramban district due to inclement weather, shooting stones and slippery road conditions. — (KDC)
