Srinagar: Following the incident of ruthlessly beating a student in a private coaching centre in Srinagar by a faculty member, the District Magistrate Srinagar has taken cognizance of the incident while the CEO of the district has also sought strict action against the erring teacher, institute.
According to an order issued from the office of District Magistrate Srinagar, the Managing Director of HOPE Classes Parraypora has been called for recording a statement in court at 10:00 am on 15 April before further proceedings are made under the law.
On Wednesday, a teenage student was beaten to a pulp by a teacher in Hope Classes private coaching centre in Parraypora, a video of which surfaced on social media later.
In a video that has gone viral on various social media platforms, a teacher was seen hitting hard on the students’ face with the teacher querying about some sort of permission.
In the video, the teacher while repeatedly slapping the student was asking the student why he didn’t seek permission. Reportedly, the teacher is teaching chemistry in the institute.
Meanwhile, the Coaching Centres Association of Kashmir (CCAK) has constituted a Committee to inquire about the matter.
CCAK has termed the incident unfortunate and has expressed disappointment over the incident. “It is unfortunate that such an incident has happened. The Association constituted a committee to look into the matter and recommend measures so that such incidents do not happen in future,” CCAK said in a statement.
