For Revalidation of Documents, Pharmacy Owners Seek Extension in Deadline

SRINAGAR — Scores of apothecary owners on Thursday appealed to President Pharmacy Council J&K to extend the deadline for the revalidation of their documents and said most of them have missed the last date as they were not aware of it.

President Pharmacy Council J&K issues licenses for sale of drugs to both retailers and wholesalers. Following the formation of J&K UT, the apothecary owners were asked to revalidate the documents till 7th April 2022.

Some of the retailers and wholesalers told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that they were not aware that they have to revalidate their documents till 7th April. “Now we are being asked that our documents would not be revalidated because we have missed the deadline. We told them that we were not aware about the fixed deadline and urged them to extend it but they are not listening to us,” Pharmacy owners said.

“On the one hand, the government touts employment and creation of jobs but on the other hand they are snatching our livelihood from us,” said one of the pharmacy owners.

They said that their pharmacy outlets would be closed in absence of the revalidated documents and urged the Lt Governor, Commissioner Secretary Health and other concerned officials to look into the matter and help in extending the deadline for their documents’ revalidation.

While talking to KDC, President Pharmacy Council J&K- Lotika Khujaria said that they have finalized the last date till 8th April and could not have allowed further extension after it. — (KDC)
