SRINAGAR — A 35-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon when a sand cave that he and other laborers were digging collapsed onto him, authorities said.
They said some laborers were tunneling into the side of a sand dune in the Rangpath forest area of Kralgund Handwara when the sand caved in.
The laborer identified as Nisar Ahmed Sofi son of Abdul Aziz Sofi, a resident of Rangpath village died on the spot.
Other laborers were partially buried but were able to dig themselves out safely.
The deceased was shifted to CHC Kralgund for postmortem. — (KNT)
