SACPDD Executive Member Dr. Rizwan Rumi Condemns Attack on Worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

SRINAGAR (KIMS) – Dr. Rizwan Rumi, Executive Member South Asian Center for Peace Democracy and Development (SACPDD) has expressed concern over the attacks on Muslim worshippers at Al-Aqsa mosque by Israeli forces in Jerusalem.

Dr. Rizwan condemned the violation by Israeli forces during the holy month of Ramadan and said, “the violence that took place at Al-Aqsa mosque on Friday is a matter of great sadness. We condemn this type of violence.”

“The violence is unacceptable. This type of violence is never acceptable. We expect all should restrain so that such incident never happens in any part of the (Occupied) Palestinian land,” he added.

Dr. Rizwan further said, “the holy places such as Al-Aqsa mosque which has great significance in Islam should always be respected and should be used for worshipping only and not for fighting.”

“International organisations such as Human Rights Watch, Amnesty Iternational should also rise concerns over Israeli attacks on Palestine. They should help and give protection to the people of Palestine,” he added.

The israeli forces on Friday attacked Muslim worshippers inside the Al-Aqsa mosque leaving atleast 53 Palestinians injured in clashes inside the Haram-al-Sharif area. The number of injuries rose to 285 in Israeli attacks at Al-Aqsa mosque Damascus Gate of Old City and Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, the Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement. – (KIMS)
