SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that the two main accused persons involved in Bagh-e-Mehtab prostitution racket case have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
Srinagar Police in a statement said, both the main accused persons identified as Mohd Shafi Hajam, son of Abdul Khaliq Hajam of karimabad, Pulwama and Arshad Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Shaban Bhat of Pampore, Pulwama were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The statement said, both of them were arrested from Bagh-e-Mehtab locality and are main accused in case FIR no 19/2023 under sections 3, 4 & 8 of Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act (ITPA) registered in Chanpora Police Station.
On April 3, Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a prostitution (flesh trade) racket in a rented accommodation in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Srinagar and arrested eight persons including four women. Next day the owner of the residential house namely Altaf Hussain Afaki, son of Asadullah Afaki of Chanapora, Srinagar was also arrested by the police. — (KIMS)
