Woman stabs, injures fiance in Srinagar, arrested

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested a woman for stabbing and injuring her fiance in Chattabal area of Srinagar.

Reports said, a woman namely Asifa Bashir of Parimpora Srinagar attacked her fiance with a knife in Kak Sarai area of Chattabal Srinagar.

Her fiance identified as Adil Ahmad Kaloo of Bemina Srinagar suffered injuries in the abdomen and was rushed to hospital for treatment and his condition is stated to be stable.

Soon after the incident, Asifa was arrested by Police under FIR No 57/2023 registered in Safakadal Police Station.

Asifa is presently lodged in Women’s Police Station, Rambagh.

Reports said, the nikkah of the two has already taken place. The couple was going through some personal problems, and there was a heated argument between the two before the incident occurred.

The incident has sent shockwaves across Kashmir as this is perhaps the first case in which a woman stabbed her fiance.

On Thursday, two days after her arrest, Srinagar Court has sent her to six days police remand for further investigation into the case.

Recently, Asifa took to her Social Media page and claimed that the owner of a pet shop was responsible for the death of her pet cat. Later, the shop owner filed a defamation case against her.

Asifa, a Social Media influencer is running a Facebook Page named ‘Kashmir Dastan News Network’. — (KIMS)
