BANDIPORA — A minor girl drowned to death in Kishanganga river in Bandipora district of North Kashmir on Saturday.
An 8-year-old girl identified as Iqra Bano, daughter of Mohammad Jamal Mir slipped into Kishanganga river near her village Neeru in Gurez area of Bandipora district. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched, however, by the time the girl was rescued she had died, news agency KNO reported.
The body was handed over to the family for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities.
