‘Curative Survey Scam’: One accused arrested from Tamil Nadu, says police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Exposing the deceptive operations of ‘Curative Survey Private Limited,’ it has been revealed that the company, using a fraudulent website, misled the public with false promises of substantial investment returns on December 19, 2023.

This manipulation resulted in significant financial losses and widespread chaos, leading to the prompt filing of FIR No. 39/2023 under Section 66D of the IT Act and Section 420 of the IPC at the Cyber Police Station in Kashmir.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, a specialized Special Investigation Team (SIT) was swiftly formed to investigate the case.

The investigation unveiled the establishment of six offices in the Kashmir Valley and one regional office in Jammu between January and February 2023. All seven offices were searched, sealed, and evidence sent to the FSL for analysis.

The SIT identified six accused persons residing outside the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, with one suspect in custody in Tamil Nadu. The efforts are on to apprehend the remaining accused.

The assessment of the extent of financial losses to victims is underway through the collection of relevant evidence and statements from witnesses. Notably, all company account numbers have been frozen as part of the ongoing investigation.

The investigation also scrutinizes the involvement of employees and local contacts associated with the main accused persons.

Social media influencers, who played a role in promoting the company through various platforms, are also under thorough examination.

To date, Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone-Srinagar has received 27 complaints and has urged general public to come forward with any complaints related to this fraudulent company. — (KIMS)
