SRINAGAR – As Srinagar Mayor Junaid Mattoo along with some corporators are on strike at the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) office, the Joint Commissioner Planning of the corporation Ghulam Hassan Mir has started conducting public meetings on city roads.
Local sources told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that Joint Commissioner Planning (JCP) of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation has started a special drive to scrutinise documents for building permissions and granting them instantly to the eligible applicants.
They said that Ghulam Hassan Mir, Joint commissioner planning, SMC was seen signing building permission cases while on special drive against illegal construction and encroachers on Saturday in ward 6 of the city.
“The files which are complete in all respects, with fees deposited by the applicants, are being signed even during the drive against illegal construction outside the SMC’s main office on the road side to ease the problem for the citizens,” an official told KDC.
Earlier, in a letter to Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Saturday, Mayor Srinagar city Junaid Azim Matto along with corporators has sought removal of the Joint Commissioner (Planning) Ghulam Hassan Mir and his repatriation to Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD) after Commissioner SMC Athar Amir forms the special committee headed by JCP of the corporation for illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions in the city. – (KDC)
