SRINAGAR (KIMS) — As the rain lashed plains and higher reaches received snowfall in last 24 hours, the Meteorological Department (MeT) on Friday forecast generally dry weather in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till March 26.
“Today, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with possibility of light rain and snowfall at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir,” said an official of the Meteorological Department (MeT).
“The weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir from March 23-26 with brief cloudiness on the evening of March 23,“ he said.
“The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light rain and snowfall at few places of Jammu and Kashmir on March 27 while intermittent light rain and snowfall is expected at many places from March 28-31,” he said.
Meanwhile, the the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 7.2°C, Qazigund 7.0°C, Kupwara 6.6°C, Kokernag 5.6°C, Pahalgam 3.7°C and Gulmarg minus 0.5°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.
The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 17.7°C, Katra 14.1°C, Batote 8.7°C, Bhaderwah 8.0°C and Banihal 9.0°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.
In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 2.8°C and Kargil 1.0°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
