PULWAMA [Mudasir Maqbool] (KIMS) — The J&K Floorball Association, affiliated with the Indian Floorball Federation (InFF), has launched an introductory coaching camp at Future Pack Secondary School, Shadimarg, Pulwama.
This initiative, held in collaboration with the school, attracted over 50 enthusiastic boys and girls, marking a significant milestone in the region’s sports development.
Recognized by the International Olympic Committee, floorball is played in over 100 countries and is one of the fastest-growing sports globally.
The Chairman of Future Pack Secondary School expressed gratitude to the J&K Floorball Association and its members for their tireless efforts in promoting floorball in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also acknowledged General Secretary Fazan Ul Fayaz and President Irshad Ahmad Dar for providing a platform for aspiring athletes aiming for the Olympics.
The General Secretary of the J&K Floorball Association thanked Mr. Asif Illahi, Chairman of the school, for providing the facilities and basic amenities necessary for the camp.
He also appreciated the support of Mr. Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, Principal of Future Pack Higher Secondary School, and all school administrators.
The coaching camp was conducted under the supervision of the President of the J&K Floorball Association, with coaching provided by Mr. Tauseef Ashraf, coach of the Under-14 team, and other professional coaches, including Yasir Irshad, Faisal Mushtaq, Amitpal Singh, Rahida Nazir, Mehr-un-Nisa, and Adnan Khursheed.
Participants expressed excitement and joy in learning the new sport, and the camp was deemed a resounding success. — (KIMS)
