SRINAGAR (KIMS) — A local militant was slain in an anti-militancy operation in Wagoora Nowgam area in Srinagar district on Wednesday.
Reports said that the anti-militancy operation was launched by joint team of government forces including Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police on Wednesday following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
One militant was slain in the anti-militancy operation and he has been identified as Uzair Ashraf Dar son of Mohd Ashraf Dar from Melhoora, Shopian. He was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit.
Police in a statement said that arms and ammunition including 1 Pistol, 1 Magazine, 6 Rounds and 2 Grenades were recovered from anti-militancy operation site. — (KIMS)
