Property of notorious drug peddler attached in Kulgam: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a relentless efforts to curb the menace of drugs, the Jammu and Kashmir Police attached an immovable property worth one crore of a notorious drug peddler on Saturday in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a two storey residential house measuring 1465 Sq. Ft and 13 marlas of land underneath the residential house under section 68-F(2) of NDPS Act 1985 of Imran Ahmad Ganie, Son of Late Mohd Ramzan Ganie, resident of Nassu Badragund Qazigund, Kulgam.

The said drug peddler was involved in Case FIR Number 34/2024 of Police Station Qazigund and is presently detained under PIT NDPS Act and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.

“This action reaffirms the commitment of Kulgam Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area have hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Kulgam district,” the statement said. — (KIMS)
