Five J&K doctors felicitated as COVID warriors by Indian Medical Association on Doctors Day

SRINAGAR — On Doctors Day being celebrated on 1st July every year nationally, commemorating birth & death anniversary of Dr. BC Roy, Bharat Ratna and ex Chief Minister West Bengal, the Indian Medical Association national president during an impressive function announced the names the IMA COVID warriors across the country, during COVID pandemic at IMA national headquarters, New Delhi at 4.30 pm after the address of prime minister Narendra Modi during zoom webinar on Thursday.

The COVID Warrior doctors from Jammu & Kashmir who were awarded and felicitated for excellent performance include Prof. (Dr.) A. G. Ahangar, Director SKIMS, Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Samia Rashid, Principal/ Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kundal, Professor and HOD, General Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu, Prof. Dr. S. Mohammad Saleem Khan, Professor and HOD Community Medicine/ Nodal Officer COVID-19, Government Medical College, Srinagar and Dr. Shafa Deva, Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Medical College, Bemina, Srinagar. These awards were conferred on the recommendations of J&K state president Prof. GM Malik, Secretary General Prof. Mir Nazir Ahmad and CWC.

Jammu and Kashmir IMA in a statement has congratulated all five life members of IMA J-K for getting these awards on national doctors day function addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaker of parliament, Dr. Ketan Desai, ex president world medical association, national IMA president and secretary general. — (KDC)
