SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a chicken seller in Srinagar district of Kashmir valley for allegedly overcharging customers and using inaccurate weighing machines to deceive them.
“Police in Srinagar has taken cognizance after receiving a written complaint against a chicken seller in Nowhatta Chowk for allegedly overcharging customers and using inaccurate weighing machines to deceive them,” police said in a statement.
“Upon initial verification, the allegations were found to be true. Consequently, FIR No. 06/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Nowhatta,” the statement said.
“The accused person namely Aijaz Ahmad Hakeem, son of Gh. Ahmad Hakeem, resident of Nowhatta has been arrested and all the weighing machines in his possession have been seized,” the statement added.
Further investigation into the matter is going on. — (KIMS)
