SPO arrested for drug peddling in Udhampur, heroin seized: Police

UDHAMPUR (KIMS) — A Special Police Officer (SPO) has been arrested for drug peddling in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.

“A police team from Police Station Udhampur, led by its Station House Officer (SHO), was conducting patrolling and checking near the SKPA Udhampur area when they intercepted a suspicious individual. On seeing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended,“ police said in a statement.

“Upon frisking the individual, identified as Michael Jackson, son of Raju, resident of Christian Colony, Udhampur, and an SPO posted at DPL Udhampur, the police recovered 5.95 grams of heroin-like contraband substance. The accused was immediately arrested,“ the statement said.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 41/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur, and further investigation is underway. — (KIMS)
