IGP Jammu visits commando training centre; reviews facilities, infrastructure

JAMMU (KIMS) — Inspector General of Police Jammu zone Bhim Sen Tuti on Tuesday visited commando training centre Sunjwan and directed officials to upgrade the infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of modern counter-terrorism and security operations.

The visit was aimed at ensuring that the training infrastructure meets the highest standards and provides the necessary facilities to the personnel undergoing training for challenging security operations. The IGP was briefed by Principal, CTC, Sunjwan on the past training programs and the operational readiness of the center.

The IGP emphasized the importance of modernizing training techniques and providing state-of-the-art facilities for the personnel. He directed that immediate steps be taken to further upgrade the infrastructure, ensuring it supports the evolving demands of modern counter-terrorism and security operations. Specific instructions were given for the up gradation of training grounds and the enhancement of accommodation facilities and equipment.

The IGP also stressed the need for regular maintenance of the existing infrastructure to ensure that the personnel receive optimal training conditions. He called for a comprehensive review of all the training modules and suggested the inclusion of more specialized courses aimed at sharpening the tactical, physical, and psychological readiness of the commandos.

The IGP further assured that all necessary resources would be allocated to make CTC Sunjwan a center of excellence in terms of training and infrastructure, thereby strengthening the security forces in the region.
