Properties of two drug peddlers attached under NDPS Act in Jammu

JAMMU (KIMS) — While continuing on war against the menace of drug trade, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached two residential houses valuing lakhs of Rupees in Rajeev Nagar area of Jammu district on Saturday.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police attached residential houses of two notorious drug peddlers identified as Poonam, wife of Late Satveer and Khemo Devi, wife of late Sudesh Kumar — both residents of Rajeev Nagar Jammu under the provisions of Section 68(E) (F) of NDPS Act, 1985.

“During the scrutiny of the FIRs lodged against both the accused persons, the investigating officers have a reason to believe that the value of the properties in question is beyond their known sources of income and as such prima facie, are illegally acquired from the proceeds of illegal trade of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances,” police said in a statement.

“The valuation of the above properties have been jointly done by the revenue department and the Roads and Building Department,” the statement said. — (KIMS)
