Vice President C P Radhakrishnan to attend 21st convocation of Kashmir University on Feb 26

SRINAGAR — Vice President C P Radhakrishnan will visit Kashmir next week on his maiden trip to the Valley after assuming office to attend the 21st Convocation of the University of Kashmir on February 26.

A university spokesperson said the Vice President will attend the ceremony as chief guest and deliver the convocation address.

Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Chancellor of the university, will preside over the convocation, while Chief Minister and Pro-Chancellor Omar Abdullah will attend as guest of honour.

The spokesperson said a total of 59,558 degrees will be conferred, including 44,910 undergraduate, 13,545 postgraduate, 461 MD/MS, four MCh, 18 MPhil and 620 PhD degrees.

Vice Chancellor Nilofer Khan said the convocation celebrates students’ academic achievements and reaffirms the university’s commitment to quality education, research and public engagement.

She added that the Vice President’s presence at the event reflects growing national recognition of the university’s academic and research contributions. — (PTI)
