JAMMU (KIMS) — At least four teachers of Middle School Namblan in Rajouri district have been placed under suspension after a surprise inspection found them unauthorizedly absent from duty, exposing serious administrative and academic lapses in the school.
According to an official order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri, action was taken after a complaint regarding the regular unauthorized absence of teachers at the school prompted the constitution of a two-member committee to conduct a surprise inspection.
During the inspection, the committee found that out of five teachers posted at the school, only one teacher Abdul Shakoor was present, while four others were absent without any sanctioned leave.
The suspended teachers have been identified as Ayaz Ahmed (3rd Teacher), Mohd Jhangeer (RRET), Vikram Bali (Teacher), and Mushtaq Ahmed (Teacher Grade-II).
The inspection team further reported poor functioning of the school, noting that out of 123 enrolled students, only 28 were present at the time of inspection.
The order stated that the unauthorized and willful absence of the teachers amounted to gross misconduct, negligence and dereliction of duties, adversely affecting students’ interests and the smooth functioning of the school.
Acting under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, the CEO Rajouri ordered the immediate suspension of all four teachers. They will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per rules during the suspension period.
As per the order, suspended teacher Vikram Bali has been attached to PS Jabber Dhara, Zone Doongi, while Ayaz Ahmed, Mohd Jhangeer and Mushtaq Ahmed will remain attached to Middle School Namblan until further staff arrangements are made. — (KIMS)
