Summer vacation extended in schools across J&K till July 26

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the summer vacation for all government and recognized private schools across Union Territory till July 26, 2026, in view of prevailing weather conditions.

Announcing the decision in a post on X, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the extension has been made with the safety and well-being of students, teachers and their families as the top priority.

“Keeping the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and their families as our foremost priority, the summer vacation for all Government and recognized private schools in the Kashmir Division and Winter Zones and Summer Zones of Jammu Division is hereby extended up to 26th July, 2026,” the minister said.

She added that schools will now reopen on Monday, July 27, 2026.

The minister also urged people to stay safe, remain vigilant, and strictly follow advisories issued by the concerned authorities, while wishing everyone good health and safety. — (KIMS)
