SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday hit back at BJP president J.P. Nadda over his remarks on the JKSSB paper leak, saying the recruitment scam took place in 2022 under the administration headed by the Lieutenant Governor, not an NC-Congress government.
In a post on X, Abdullah said, “You are absolutely correct about the SSB paper leak in J&K @JPNadda ji but you have got the date wrong. It was 2022. The government wasn’t of NC & Congress. It was a government headed by Lt. Governor but thank you for reminding everyone of this failure.”
The Chief Minister also referred to observations made by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in the matter, sharing excerpts of the court’s judgment that quashed the contract awarded for conducting certain computer-based examinations and cancelled the affected recruitment tests.
He further questioned the status of the High-Level Committee ordered by the High Court, stating, “We have no idea what happened to the High Level Committee or its report. Perhaps you can share that with us in your next press conference.”
The High Court had directed the government to constitute a committee headed by a retired High Court judge to inquire into alleged irregularities in the award of the examination contract and recommend action against those found guilty. — (KIMS)
