SRINAGAR — The deadline for submitting films to the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026 has been extended to August 1, 2026, giving filmmakers a final opportunity to participate in the inaugural edition of the festival.
Organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu and Kashmir, the festival is scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10, 2026, with the aim of positioning the Union Territory as a global destination for cinema and cultural exchange.
According to the organisers, the festival has witnessed an overwhelming response, receiving more than 900 film entries from around 50 countries, reflecting strong interest from filmmakers across India and abroad.
The extension of the submission deadline is expected to encourage more filmmakers to showcase their work at the inaugural edition of the international film festival. — (KIMS)
