SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq on Saturday expressed deep grief over the killing of two non-local labourers in the Devsar area of Kulgam district and condemned the attack.
In a statement shared on X, Mirwaiz said Islam upholds the sanctity of every innocent human life and unequivocally condemns the killing of innocent persons.
He said targeting poor labourers who have come to Kashmir to earn an honest livelihood is completely contrary to the teachings of Islam and the values of humanity.
Mirwaiz said that whether in Kashmir or elsewhere, the spilling of innocent blood only brings more pain and suffering.
He stressed that violence should be shunned and called for dialogue, accommodation and engagement as the way forward to make South Asia a more peaceful place.
He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims. — (KIMS)
