SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday presented cash awards amounting to ₹2.71 crore to outstanding sportspersons and international athletes from Jammu and Kashmir at a ceremony held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
According to a post on X by the Office of the Chief Minister, Abdullah also felicitated J&K’s talented MMA fighter Owais Yaqoob for his remarkable victory at BRAVE CF 107 in Bulgaria.
Minister Satish Sharma, MLA Nasir Aslam Wani and senior government officials were present during the ceremony.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent, modernising sports infrastructure and empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to excel at national and international levels. — (KIMS)
