JAMMU (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said they traced a woman who had been missing for nearly 30 months from the Bhalla area of Doda district and safely reunited her with her family.
According to a police statement, the woman, identified as Suraksha Devi, wife of Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Tatora Gajoth, Tehsil Bhalla in Doda, was reported missing at Police Post Bhalla under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah.
The missing report was registered vide DDR No. 09 dated February 10, 2024.
Since the report was lodged, police said the team of Police Post Bhalla had been making sustained efforts to trace the woman by developing leads and gathering information about her whereabouts.
Following these efforts, police successfully traced her on August 17, 2026, after nearly 30 months.
After completing all requisite legal and procedural formalities, the woman was safely handed over to her family. The missing report was subsequently closed vide DDR No. 19 dated August 17, 2026.
Doda Police reiterated its commitment to tracing missing persons and making sustained efforts to reunite them safely with their families. — (KIMS)
