SRINAGAR — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday chaired meetings at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to review the progress of languishing projects under the Revenue Department across Jammu and Kashmir and assess restoration measures following damage caused by recent adverse weather conditions and floods in the Jammu Division.
During the meeting on languishing projects, the Chief Minister reviewed the status of projects being implemented under the Revenue Department and stressed the need for their timely completion.
He directed the concerned officers to identify and address bottlenecks contributing to delays and ensure that pending works are expedited. The Chief Minister also emphasised close monitoring and coordinated efforts among departments to avoid further delays in execution.
In a separate review of the post-flood situation in Jammu Division, the Chief Minister took stock of repair, restoration and rehabilitation measures undertaken following damage to infrastructure caused by recent adverse weather and flooding.
He directed the concerned departments to accelerate restoration work and ensure that damaged infrastructure is repaired at the earliest.
The Chief Minister also called for strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms to improve the administration’s ability to deal with future adverse weather events and minimise damage to public infrastructure and services. — (KIMS)
