SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking and the financial networks of narcotics offenders, attaching and freezing immovable properties worth over ₹6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases in Srinagar.
The action was carried out by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, along with earlier attachment and freezing proceedings by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar, targeting properties allegedly acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotics activities.
Police Station Nigeen attached an immovable property comprising a double-storeyed residential house and land at Danihama, Hazratbal, valued at approximately ₹1.10 crore.
The property belongs to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli, son of Ashiq Hussain Teeli, resident of Saderbal, Hazratbal, presently residing at Danihama, Hazratbal. It was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, in connection with FIR No. 24/2026 under Sections 8/21 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nigeen.
During investigation, the property was identified as having been illegally acquired and linked to proceeds of drug trafficking, following which the competent authority ordered its attachment. The order restrains the owner from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, encumbering or creating any third-party interest in the property.
In another action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house and land at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal, valued at approximately ₹1.14 crore.
The property belongs to Zubair Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Shaban Rather, resident of Lariyal, Tral, presently residing at Abu Baker Colony, Mulphaq, in connection with FIR No. 44/2026 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act.
The property was identified during investigation as being linked to proceeds of drug trafficking and was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act. The attachment order prohibits its sale, lease, transfer, alteration or creation of any third-party interest.
Earlier, Police Station Shalteng had frozen an immovable property valued at approximately ₹1 crore belonging to accused Mohd Altaf Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, resident of Dilawar Colony, Mujgund, Srinagar.
The property comprises a single-storey residential house along with 11.5 marlas of land and was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act during investigation of FIR No. 76/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act, after it was found to have been acquired from proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
Police Station Ahmad Nagar also attached an immovable property valued at approximately ₹2.2 crore belonging to accused Owais Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, resident of Baghaat Shoora, Srinagar.
The property comprises a double-storeyed residential house, including a hall on the second floor, along with approximately 10 marlas of land at Baghaat Shoora. It was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 under Sections 8/21/27-A/29 NDPS Act, following confirmation by the Competent Authority, SAFEMA, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, New Delhi.
Police Station Lal Bazar also attached a drug-linked property comprising a double-storeyed residential house and 3.5 marlas of land, having an estimated market value of more than ₹35 lakh.
The property belongs to Waseem Ahmad Langoo, son of Farooq Ahmad Langoo, resident of Sheikh Colony, Lal Bazar, and was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 52/2023 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act.
The proceedings were conducted peacefully and in accordance with prescribed legal procedure and due process in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Eidgah.
Meanwhile, another property belonging to accused Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, resident of Panzinara, Srinagar, was frozen by Police Station Shalteng during investigation of FIR No. 87/2025 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act.
The property comprises a single-storey residential house along with six marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹43 lakh. It was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after being identified as having been acquired from proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
With these actions, Srinagar Police said it has attached or frozen immovable properties collectively valued at over ₹6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases.
Police said the sustained action reflects its zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking and its efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting narcotics networks.
The action, aimed at depriving drug traffickers and their associates of financial gains generated through illicit narcotics activities, forms part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, police said. — (KIMS)
