SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday handed over appointment letters to 29 newly appointed officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (Gazetted) Services and urged them to discharge their duties with courage, integrity and compassion.
Sinha said the appointment letters represented the trust of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and carried with them the responsibility to protect their security, dignity and rights.
The newly appointed officers will undergo mandatory training at the police academy in Udhampur before taking up their professional responsibilities. The LG said their role would include maintaining peace, upholding the rule of law and responding to evolving security challenges.
He also stressed that the police uniform should be viewed as a symbol of service, commitment and responsibility rather than authority.
Congratulating the officers, Sinha also expressed gratitude to their families for supporting and nurturing their spirit of public service. — (KIMS)
