SRINAGAR — Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against Mudasir Ahmad Najar, a Postal Assistant posted at Sub Post Office Bandipora, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹6,500 for the release of a subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

According to an ACB statement, a complaint was received at Police Station ACB Baramulla alleging that Najar had demanded illegal gratification for releasing the subsidy component of a loan availed by the complainant through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Pampore, for his business unit in Bandipora.

An amount of ₹1.75 lakh was pending as subsidy, subject to physical verification and geo-tagging to be carried out by the accused, the statement said.

During the investigation, the accused was caught red-handed while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹6,500 from the complainant. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
