ACB books Doda Girdawar in DA case, searches premises in Jammu, Doda

DODA — The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against a Girdawar posted at Tehsil Headquarters Gandoh in Doda district for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The accused, identified as Mohd. Iqbal, son of Late Ghulam Qadir and a resident of Goilbar Alni, Gangota, has been booked under FIR No. 03/2026 under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at Police Station ACB Doda.

According to the ACB, the case was registered following a verification conducted by ACB (DKR) into allegations that the official had amassed movable and immovable properties in his own name and in the names of his family members.

The alleged assets include four commercial buildings, two residential buildings, two plots in Doda and Jammu, a vehicle, costly household items and bank accounts, the ACB said.

The verification reportedly found that the value of the assets was disproportionate to the official’s known sources of income from lawful sources, thereby establishing a prima facie case of disproportionate assets.

During the investigation, the ACB obtained a search warrant from the competent court and conducted searches at the accused’s residential, commercial and office premises in Doda and Jammu districts in the presence of magistrates and independent witnesses.

Further investigation into the case is underway, the ACB said. — (KIMS)
