BANDIPORA — District Police Bandipora on Wednesday conducted an anti-fidayeen mock drill at the District Police Lines (DPL) to assess operational preparedness, inter-agency coordination and emergency response mechanisms in the event of a simulated terrorist attack.
The exercise was conducted with the participation of personnel from SOG Bandipora, DPL Bandipora, the 3rd Battalion of the CRPF, 14 Rashtriya Rifles and 27 Assam Rifles, who demonstrated coordinated response capabilities during the simulated emergency.
During the drill, four simulated terrorists were located in two under-construction buildings and neutralised as part of the exercise. Subsequently, the AST/BDS team, assisted by a sniffer dog, conducted area sanitisation to check for suspected explosive devices and other potential hazards.
The exercise also assessed medical response and casualty management mechanisms, including ambulance deployment and the handling of simulated casualties.
The drill concluded after the premises were thoroughly searched, sanitised and declared safe. A briefing and debriefing session was also held to review the performance of participating personnel and identify areas requiring further improvement.
The exercise reaffirmed the commitment of District Police Bandipora and participating security agencies to maintaining operational readiness, strengthening inter-agency coordination and ensuring an effective response to security emergencies. — (KIMS)
