Zubair-Ul-Islam

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Dr. Rizwan Rumi, Executive Member at SACPDD (South Asian Centre for Peace, Democracy and Development) and well known social activist, while expressing his grief over recent killings in Kashmir valley said, “It is an attack on brotherhood of Kashmir irrespective of caste, colour and religion.”

“Such attempts only defame and destruct the best possible picture of Kashmir as a society,” he said while talking with Kashmir Independent Media Service – KIMS.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir must act and save the lives of innocent people who come here for labour work.

The non-locals have lived and worked here from decades and didn’t face any threat of life and the present trend of killing non-local labourers in Kashmir valley is very disturbing.

Dr. Rizwan while urging security agencies to work on intelligence inputs aptly said, “the security agencies should make sure no further life is lost,” adding “the killers of these innocent people must be punished.”

The civil society members and politicians should unitedly raise their voice against such unfortunate incidents that only harm our culture and brotherhood.

While expressing his anguish, Dr. Rizwan said, “some people are making it minority versus majority issue which is unfortunate and highly condemnable.”

“Such unfortunate incidents at the time of fruit season, when there is an economic flow in the valley only bring unemployment and invite loss to the already shaking economy,” he said while talking with Kashmir Independent Media Service – KIMS. — (KIMS)
