SRINAGAR (KIMS) — After two flesh trade (prostitution) rackets were busted in Srinagar and Jammu cities, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday busted another flesh trade (prostitution) racket in Handwara area of North Kashmir.
Police in a statement said, on 25th April, 2023, an information was received from reliable sources about a racket of immoral activities operating from the house of an individual in Reshipora. Accordingly, a search party conducted a raid in the house where a sex racket was busted.
The house owner identified as Shabir Ahmad War, S/o Gh Ahmad War, R/o Rishipora Kralgund and his wife (name withheld), one Female sex worker (name withheld) and two customers namely Rayees Ah Lone, S/o Khazir Mohd Lone, R/o Dangerpora, Rafiabad and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, S/o Abdul Rehman Sheikh, R/o Binner, Baramulla were arrested from the spot, the statement said.
The statement said that the Cash amounting to Rs. 47,800/- was also recovered from the spot.
An FIR No. 37/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kralgund and further investigation has been initiated, the statement said.
Notably, on 3rd April, Jammu and Kashmir Police busted a flesh trade (prostitution) racket in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Srinagar city and arrested nine persons including four women and the house owner.
The investigation into this case led to the busting of another flesh trade (prostitution) racket in Nowgam area of Srinagar city and six persons including a couple was arrested for operating the flesh trade (prostitution) racket in Nowgam.
On April 17, another flesh trade (prostitution) racket was busted in Jewel Chowk area of Jammu city and five persons, including two from Kashmir were arrested. — (KIMS)
