Amid heatwave, Government announces 15-day Summer break for schools in Kashmir

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In view of the ongoing heatwave, the government has announced a 15-day summer vacation for all schools in the Kashmir Valley, starting from June 23, 2025.

According to an official communiqué, all government and recognized private schools up to the higher secondary level in the Kashmir Division shall remain closed from June 23 to July 7, 2025.

The decision was taken due to the rising temperatures, which have been causing distress among students and parents.

Just a day earlier, the government had revised school timings. Schools within the Srinagar Municipal limits were directed to operate from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, while those outside and other areas of Kashmir valley were instructed to function from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. — (KIMS)
