Criminal wanted in different FIRs arrested in Udhampur

JAMMU (KIMS) — A criminal who was wanted in many cases was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, police said on Sunday.

A team of Police Station Majalta arrested a wanted criminal Amir Khan S/o Ghulam Rasool R/o Khoon, Tehsil Majalta District Udhampur.

During a well-coordinated operation, based on reliable intelligence regarding the movement of the accused in the jurisdiction of district Udhampur, Police launched a swift operation. The accused attempted to evade but was overpowered and taken into custody.

Amir Khan is involved in numerous serious criminal activities, including criminal assualt, Rape, Robbery, NDPS, Arms Act, Attempt to Murder, illegal possession of weapons. He was wanted in at least 5-6 different FIRs registered across various police stations of J&K and Punjab.

Moreover, Amir Khan is also a member of a gangster group, which operates in areas such as Manhor Gopala, Check Deyala, Check Manga Gujjrain, Mandhara, Rakh Brotia, and Vijaypur.

His apprehension has given a blow to the wanted criminals operating in the area and has sent a sign of relief among the adjoining population, reinforcing their belief towards the protection of life and property by J&K police. — (KIMS)
