Dry, foggy weather to continue in Kashmir till December end: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Wednesday forecast dry and foggy weather in parts of Kashmir region till end of this month.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till January 2, 2024.”

“Moderate to dense fog over Central Kashmir, plains of Baramulla, Ganderbal and Pulwama district will continue till December 31,” he said.

He said, “There is possibility of light snowfall over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during evening and night of December 31.”

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light rain and snowfall at isolated to scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir from January 3 to 4.”

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 2.6°, Qazigund minus 3.2°C, Kupwara minus 4.2°C, Pahalgam minus 4.6°C, Gulmarg minus 2.8°C and Kokernag minus 2.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Wednesday.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 7.6°C, Katra 7.2°C, Batote 4.7°C, Bhaderwah 1.8°C and Banihal 1.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 12.1°C and Kargil minus 9.2°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
