Dry weather in J&K today; Rain, thunderstorm from tomorrow: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.

The weather was dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Today, the weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir, said an official of the Meteorological Department.

There is possibility of rain, thunderstorm and lightening at many places in Kashmir and Jammu region during the late afternoon or evening on May 13 and 14, he said.

He said, From May 15-16, Partly cloudy weather is expected in the Union Territory.

He said, From May 17-19, Light rain, thunder and lightning is expected at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 8.7°C, Anantnag 5.8°C, Qazigund 6.0°C, Kupwara 5.7°C, Kokernag 8.3°C, Pahalagam 2.6°C and Gulmarg 7.0°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 20.5°C, Katra 18.2°C, Udhampur 15.1°C, Bhaderwah 9.0°C, Batote 14.7°C, Banihal 8.2°C and Patnitop 14.4°C as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 0.4°C and Kargil 4.4°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
