Earthquake of Magnitude 5.7 hits J-K

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — An earthquake of Magnitude 5.7 on the Richter Scale hits Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Thursday.

However, there were no reports of any loss of life or damage to the property.

The earthquake, with its epicentre in Afghanistan occurred at around 11:26 am at a depth of 255 km, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.

The earthquake hits at latitude 36.51 degrees and longitude 71.12 degrees, it said. — (KIMS)
