SRINAGAR (KIMS) — An encounter breaks out between government forces and militants at Kujjar village in Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Wednesday.
Reports said, a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Kujjar village in Kulgam district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
They said, as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
The encounter was going-on when reports last came in.
Kashmir Zone Police in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said, “Encounter has started at Kujjar area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.” — (KIMS)
