SRINAGAR — Fearing the government may scrap the selection process for the posts of Finance Account Assistant (FAA), the aspirants on Thursday held a protest demonstration, seeking immediate release of the final selection list.
The candidates while protesting in Srinagar’s Press enclave said they have come to know from various sources that Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board is cancelling the recruitment of Finance Account Assistant.
The protesters were carrying placards. Slogans like ‘unemployment free J&K- a myth’, ‘justice for meritorious candidates’, ‘thanks for ruining our career’, ‘inquiry on spot’ etc were written on them.
“After qualifying the exam we thought our unemployment woes would end but the delay in the declaration of results by the JKSSB has kept us in the middle of nowhere” they said.
“Why does it take so long for the government to question the recruitment process? We are not against the probe but that should be time-bound,” one of the lady protesters said, alleging that the rights of deserved candidates are being trampled in the name of the probe and alleged scams.
It is pertinent to mention, the board had advertised posts for the Finance Account Assistant (FAA), in December 2020. The exam for which was held in the month of March, 2022. JKSSB had published the merit list on 22nd April, 2022 while document verification was conducted from 17 May to 25 May 2022.
When contacted, JKSSB chairman, Rajesh Sharma told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the candidates shouldn’t lend ear to baseless rumours. Board has no communication regarding scrapping of the FAA selection list, he said, adding that further process of the selection list is going on. — (KDC)
