BUDGAM (KIMS) — J&K Police on Sunday arrested five persons involved in gambling activities and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession in Narbal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“An information was received through reliable sources that some unknown persons are busy in gambling activities in an open agricultural land near Jawaharpora Narbal village. Upon receiving this information, police party headed by I/C Police Post Narbal raided the place and apprehended five persons involved in illegal gambling activities on spot who have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rehman Dar of Chanabal Mirgund Baramulla, Gh Mohd Bhat, son of Abdul Aziz Bhat of Ghat Sozeith Goripora, Shahnawaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Matipora Pattan, Gh Rasool Parray, son of Abdul Raheem Parray of Sumbal Sonawari and Gh Mohiddin Rather, son of Abdul Rahim Rather of Alambal Mirgund,” police said in a statement.
“During search operations ₹33500 stake money and playing cards were seized from their possession,” the statement said.
Accordingly, Case FIR No 21/2025 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation was set into motion. — (KIMS)
