SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Wednesday said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness a fresh spell of rain and snowfall from February 1, while the weather is expected to remain mostly dry till then.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain or snowfall is expected at a few places across Jammu and Kashmir on January 28.
The department said that from January 29 to January 31 evening, the weather is likely to remain generally dry across the Union Territory.
It further said that from February 1 to February 2, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain or snowfall at scattered to fairly widespread places.
From February 3 to February 6, the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, with no major precipitation expected during the period, the department added.
Meanwhile, the summer capital Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.1°C, Qazigund minus 4.3°C, Kupwara minus 0.7°C, Kokernag minus 2.6°C, Pahalgam minus 6.4°C and Gulmarg minus 9.8°C on Wednesday.
The winter capital Jammu recorded 6.5°C, Katra 5.5°C, Batote minus 0.8°C, Banihal minus 3.5°C and Bhaderwah minus 3.3°C.
In Ladakh, Leh recorded minus 10.4°C and Kargil minus 7.2°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
