Generally cloudy weather in J&K for next 24 hours; Dry weather from July 11-15: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Sunday forecast generally cloudy weather in Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, Currently the weather is improving significantly in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.

He said, Today, the weather will remain generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder, lightning with possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kathua, Samba and adjoining areas.

Generally cloudy weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir on July 10, 2023, he said. Light rain may occur at scattered places with possibility of heavy rain over Kathua and Samba districts during this period, he said.

Mainly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir from July 11-15, 2023, he said.

The official has also issued Red warning for Kathua, Samba and other lower catchment areas of Jammu region as Risk of Flood, Flash Flood increased considerably due to continuous Rain.

All concerned are advised to stay alert during next 24 hours, he said.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 14.9°C, Anantnag 13.8°C, Qazigund 14.0°C, Kupwara 14.8°C, Kokernag 13.1°C, Gulmarg 8.5°C and Pahalgam 9.6°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Sunday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 20.9°C, Katra 18.4°C, Batote 13.5°C, Bhaderwah 14.1°C, Banihal 14.6°C, Udhampur 19.8°C and Patnitop 13.2°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 4.4°C and Kargil 7.1°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
