BARAMULLA (KIMS) — The Department of Physical Education at Govt Degree College (GDC) Baramulla, in collaboration with E-Sports Kashmir, successfully organized the much-anticipated E-Sports Clash 2024 at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla.
The event, which took place over several days, attracted gaming enthusiasts from across the region, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their skills in an exciting and competitive environment.
The tournament was organized under the leadership of Fauz-i-Azeem, a prominent figure in the e-sports community, who played a key role in bringing together participants and ensuring the event’s success.
Fauz-i-Azeem’s efforts have been instrumental in fostering the growth of e-sports in Kashmir, and this event further cemented his commitment to nurturing digital sports in the region.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mohamad Shafi Lone, Principal of GDC Baramulla, who highlighted the growing significance of e-sports.
“E-sports is not only an avenue for entertainment but also a means to develop valuable skills like teamwork, strategy, and critical thinking. It is a testament to the evolving nature of sports and education,” Lone said.
The event witnessed fierce competition, with teams from various educational institutions and local communities vying for the title.
The Winner of E-Sports Clash 2024 was BCA OG from GDC Baramulla, who impressed the audience with their exceptional gameplay and teamwork. The Runners-Up, Team Botx, put up a strong fight but finished in second place.
The tournament also celebrated individual excellence, with WhyIcy being awarded the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding skills and leadership throughout the competition.
The event was attended by Major Mohammad Haris Khan, from 46RR, who served as the chief guest. He praised the participants for their sportsmanship and skill, noting that e-sports is an important avenue for youth development.
“E-sports fosters teamwork, discipline, and quick thinking—skills that will serve these young individuals well in all areas of life,” Major Khan remarked.
The success of E-Sports Clash 2024 marks a significant step in the promotion of digital sports in Kashmir, and the Department of Physical Education at GDC Baramulla, in collaboration with E-Sports Kashmir, plans to host more such events in the future to engage and inspire young gamers across the region. — (KIMS)
